Our Story
Five Stones was formed at the request of our clients to solve specific needs using the Mendix Low Code platform. In its inception, Five Stones focused on failed projects that had been sourced to off-shore development teams who produced the usual sub-standard outcomes. For this, an elite team of engineers was formed to bring their long history of software design and development and apply that knowledge to projects based on Mendix.
As a result, Five Stones has become an elite concierge service to our customers assigning small, permanent teams of three to five. With early success delivered, these teams become intimate, trusted partners - soon solving a wide spectrum of needs throughout the enterprise.
There is a pattern we see over and over. Enterprise customers make the decision to migrate departmental applications and base future development on the Mendix platform. This is usually an IT decision to bring consistency of platform, better reuse of code, seamless cross application integration, increased cyber security, and rapid application development, all while decreasing the high cost of software development. However, when it comes to the critical decision of who to engage for services, they are seduced by large off-shore development firms promising high performance at low cost. Unfortunately, what they get is a high turnover team of junior engineers, typically right out of college, that lack the experience of design, architecture, the needs of business. Five stones is consistently hired behind the scenes to course correct and clean up their code and bring projects out of crisis. Over time these enterprise customers discover the “off -shore myth” and bring their projects back into the states to achieve their goals.
